Tahiti Blue was one of BLs most common colours in the ‘70s, a bright vibrant cheerful and appealing hue contrasted against of wild limes and purples of the era. The paint was available on all Austin, Morris and Vanden Plas models, as well as Triumph and MG cars making it the closest to a universal colour for the brand. Jaguar and Rover cars were not generally sold in the colour, but several other hues from those brands were often shared with their lesser siblings. The blue (code JAE) were seen on 1974 to 1977 models, with a fair number of ‘78 model year cars also seen with it. It was replaced by the slightly lighter Pageant Blue for ‘78 onwards models, which lasted until the end of the BL era cars sometime in 1981.
