Alfa Romeo 33 1.7 16V

The Alfa Romeo 33 had a hard time trying to convince the UK buying public to part with their cash despite the zesty performance and guaranteed lively driving experience. Like most Alfas of this generation, you had to accept the flaws with the smooth, and it was another Italian family car that tumbled out of favour.

Its track day potential did save a fair number of the quicker versions but they are rarely seen as daily drivers today, with only the best examples doing the classic car show rounds. This facelift model was one of several Alfas on this site, but all had been cleared (many were needlessly vandalised) by the time I revisited it and appeared to be waiting for its fate. The open windows and grassy resting place have done it no favours though.
