Polski-Fiat 125p

A brief insight into the vision of Grzegorz Duda. As both a professional Motorsports competitor with many credits to his name and a talented car builder and modifier, he also found the time to stray into the world of television which culminated in Duda Garage in 2018. One of the many highlights at the 2021 NEC Classic Motor Show was this one-off fully operational creation, an elegant take on the Series 1 Polski Fiat 125p as a coupe.

Beautifully executed, with a carefully raked C pillar, lengthened doors, and a tastefully trimmed interior, it is even more astonishing to learn that he took just 10 weeks to create this one-off. Like any well-cut tailoring, it’s the detailing and consideration of aesthetics that shines through. Do those wheels look familiar? They’re from a Fiat Barchetta, fitting perfectly in the bespoke rear arches. The interior has been equally as well-considered, with cream coloured steering wheel, and facia details that look like it left the factory.

The build quality is exceptional, especially considering the pillarless design and the associated headache that comes with removing the B pillars. Mechanically it’s still powered by its lightly modified 1.5-litre engine but mated up to a Mercedes W123 automatic transmission which adds to the grand touring experience. It’s worth checking out the TVN Turbo channel on YouTube – all in Polish but the skill, ability and sheer talent translate into any language.
