A celebration of cars produced at the Longbridge plant, this event was initially set up a year after the last car left the factory in 2006. Since then the nearby Cofton Park has served as the venue for the annual get-together for modern MG/Rover products as well as Riley, Austin, Morris, Rover, Triumph and Vanden Plas cars and commercials, mainly focused on vehicles using engines built in the factory.

As a free event, there probably isn’t a better event in the UK considering the number of cars appeared to exceed 800. This was the first event after a two-year pandemic break, and luckily the weather stayed settled. The majority of cars on show were recent Rovers and MG’s but the classic contingent were there in strong numbers too. Acting as a social event for clubs, there were many former employees of Longbridge in attendance too, who added to the nostalgic day out of an era that dominated this part of South-West Birmingham for exactly 100 years.
