A slightly different type of reportage to my world of retro and classic car interests, I dipped out of my comfort zone into the foray of pre-war, supercars and vintage bikes in October 2022. I was fortunate to spend the weekend in Buckinghamshire to attend the Kop Hill event. The full story of the hill climb and what you expect can be seen on yet another of my event reports posted on the Car and Classic website magazine, in which I enjoyed being a passenger in three different cars.

Like many of these grassroots community events, it’s all about the people and raising much-needed funds for local charities and projects. This sense of community is evident in the dedication and hard work put in by the voluntary organisers to ensure everything runs like clockwork. Worthy of particular mention are the Marshalls who are very much the glue to any of the UK’s motorsports events. Quite simply, without them, there would be nothing.
